Describe the pitch before selecting the palm
Astro is used loosely for several artificial playing surfaces. Record whether the customer uses a short-pile hard pitch or a longer artificial-grass surface, and note infill, moisture and session frequency. Surface contact, technique and care all affect observed palm wear. A category label cannot establish how a glove will behave in every training environment.
Compare wear alongside handling
Discuss training-oriented palm options such as Mega and Super Soft alongside the proposed match alternatives. Use the selected material references rather than assuming every compound with the same family name is identical. Record catching feel, movement and palm changes separately. A harder-feeling sample is not automatically the better fit for the player.
- Photograph the same palm areas before and after sessions.
- Record surface, duration, drills and cleaning.
- Keep size, cut and cuff comparable between candidates.
- Separate palm abrasion from seam or bonding concerns.
Plan the training and match split
For academies, list active keepers, sessions per week, backup pairs and sizes. For retailers, describe the intended surface and supplied care routine in plain language. Separate match pairs can be considered against the customer’s routine, sample feedback and budget. Keep each model’s role clear before multiplying colourways.
