Choose player ID or a complete own-brand design
A player name or number on a wrist strap is a different project from developing your own glove range. Player ID changes a defined decoration area. An own-brand project can also change colours, logos, panels, labels and packaging. State which route you need so the sample and quotation cover the right work.
For a club, begin with the approved glove construction and fit. For a new brand, define the range and branding first, then decide whether individual player text belongs in the offer. Avoid applying names before the intended size and sample have been approved.
Make left and right instructions unambiguous
Create one row for each pair, with a row reference, size, left-glove text, right-glove text, text colour and quantity. Use the exact spelling, capitalisation and punctuation required. Mark an intentionally blank area as blank rather than leaving its meaning open to interpretation.
| Field | Example instruction |
|---|---|
| Pair reference | TEAM-01 — a buyer reference, not a product SKU |
| Size | Approved size from the fit trial |
| Left glove | Exact text, including capitalisation |
| Right glove | Exact text, or explicitly blank |
| Appearance | Colour, position and artwork revision |
Approve the placement at actual size
Character limits depend on the available area, typeface, application method and glove construction. Do not copy a retail brand’s limit onto a different glove. Request a proof showing the intended text within the actual decoration dimensions and check the smallest size in the order.
For artwork, send vector files where possible and provide permission for crests and sponsor marks. Review the physical sample for placement, readability and the way the decorated area moves. Include a washing review if repeated-use decoration is an important requirement.
Give a team order one proofing owner
Have one person consolidate the name list and confirm its revision before approval. Ask players to check their own row, then lock the list used for production. Record late changes separately instead of sending several competing spreadsheets or message threads.
The quotation should identify the decoration scope, setup charges, per-pair work and schedule. Agree how a spelling or application error will be handled. Do not assume another retailer’s personalisation price, delivery time or returns terms apply to your custom project.
- Fit and sizes approved before individual text.
- Left and right text checked against one master list.
- Original artwork and colour references supplied.
- Final proof and physical decoration approved.
